A conveyor is a mechanical handling system used to transport loads (or products) within an industry from point A to point B.

A traditional conveyor is a system for transporting loads or materials in a closed circuit, fixed to the floor and equipped with rollers, belts or chains. It is generally referred to as a belt conveyor or conveyor belt.

This is a handling system consisting of a set of rails attached to a framework, generally used in a variety of industrial sectors (automotive industry, surface treatment, industrial laundry, food industry, etc.). This type of conveyor is also known as an above-ground conveyor.

An overhead conveyor has several objectives. It frees up floor space and makes it easier to transport and handle loads within an industry, thereby optimising productivity. A bi-rail conveyor (also known as a power & free conveyor or accumulation conveyor) is a handling system consisting of a double track of rails enabling loads, usually heavy, to be conveyed from point A to point B. This load transport system offers the possibility of creating zones for accumulation, stopping, storage, switches, weighing stations and rotation stations.
